Testimonial - Parents of two Something Extra children from age two though Pre-K
To the EXTRA SPECIAL WOMEN of Something Extra Preschool
It breaks my heart to have to write/type this letter. I know I don't have to, but I feel I must because you ladies have been such an important & wonderful part of our lives.
This will be Makayla's 2 week notices to your school. I know I had previously said that she would probably stay with you throughout the summer, but that will need to change now. Makayla's new school has a special summer program for incoming Kindergartener's.
To us, this is bittersweet. We've grown to love, respect & care for the staff at Something Extra Preschool. You have been like 2nd parents to both our children & they are better kids for it. We started with you 4 years ago, when Cameron was 2 & and we've been able to see him throve & grow in so many ways. Makayla just seemed to find her niche, right from the get go & she's matured & grown so fast that it's unbelievable. You've not only helped raise, teach & equip our kids with skills that will last them a lifetime & make them better kids; you've also taught me and my husband many things as well. We know that both kids feel the same way for you as we do. Cameron may come off as aloof when he comes in to pick up Makayla, but he still talks about the ladies there & how much he liked them when he was going. He ALWAYS insists on coming into the school with us whenever we are there to pick up Makayla with him, so that he can see you. For Makayla though, because of her friends & because of the fact that your staff is all that she has ever known in a school setting....this will be very hard & emotional for her. In fact, I briefly mentioned it to her yesterday & she broke down in tears. She's already cried over Tatiana leaving & now it is her turn. That is a type of pain that can't be soothed right now. I know it will turn her whole world upside down....she will no longer be QUEEN of the CASTLE (LOL!) & know everyone and everything. But we are hoping that with her ability to socialize & make the most out of every situation, she will soon feel QUEEN-like in her new school. Hopefully this program will give her a running start with it. I know she's nervous, as we are.
We hate having to take her away from her best friends & her "home away from home", but we know it's for the best. We feel like it's the end of an era, almost like I'm sending the kids away to college! HA! Time does go by fast though.
Our family wants to extend our deepest gratitude & love for all that you have done for us. We simply cannot thank you enough. We wish you wonderful women ALL THE BEST. We know that you are making a difference in those kids' lives as you did ours. I will always have positive things to say about your school when people ask....or even if they don't!
Keep up the great work ladies, as you always do....and also because you never know when we may stop in unexpectedly! Hee-hee!
